Does anyone know of resources pertaining to contact microphones in particular the frap microphones, which are out of production now that the inventor died.
They were used as ways to capture sound design ambiances and textures for David Lynch movies, and I remember a video of him talking very fondly of those contact microphones.
I found some old comments about them:
"The FRAP "mic" is actually a contact mic and a custom preamp designed to work with the pickup and tuned to make it as flat as possible."
Is there any way to remake them now that they are officially out of production?
