Hi.

Does someone know a source for the original parts of the urei 1176?

SWITCHES
I catched some order codes for the ITT switches
http://www.ittcannon.com/

ITT Cannon old catalog number..
F4UGRF1501C0415

ITT Cannon new catalog number..
F15044UGRNF1501N01BAGNN

Are these order codes correct? Does someone know a distributor for these parts?

VU METER
Someone told me about the hoytmeter... but as i remeber correctly this is the one in the purple 1176?

I think minium order is 100 peaces from buckeye
Knobs from purple (andrew) or uaudio was about 9$big knob, 7$small knob?

I ask for spare parts in germany:
They told me: 21€ big knob, 16€ small knob!

Potentiometers
The originals have 300° ? Correct?
5M OHM pots aren't available everywhere (in good quality)
and the pots with a switch... hard to find!?

Does someon have a good source for these knobs?

Have someone ordered some of these parts ever?

The knobs are correct, I drew this pictures in the old forum, after asking the same question.

Here is the quote from Buckeye:
The price for the knobs less the shipping charges are;

PS-70D-2 Regular black = 100 pieces = $2.71 each, 200 = $2.17, 500 = $1.97 and 1000+ = $1.79.
PS-175TSL-2 Black knob with clear skirt/white numbers or letters = 100 pieces = $6.17 each, 200 = $5.14, 500 = $4.76 and 1000+ = $4.38.
There is a $45.00 silk screen setup charge on the PS-175-2.
A $20.00 wire transfer fee needed with a prepayment of the knob order.
I do not know what the shipping charge would be.
We have a three week ship date after receiving the order.
Please let me know if you need more information.

Thank you,

The price was to heavy to me to start a group order, but if you will start one, I will take some knobs.

Thanks Michael!

Something about 18€ a set (4 knobs) is quiet cheaper than the 74€ for spare parts here in germany :)
Hmm for 200 knobs i'll need 1000€.
Michael: how much knobs do you need? I like to have maybe 24 or something. are 176 peaces enough for you?

@ SSLtech:
2meters would be nice for me, but my friends will be unhappy then
Where can I order thes modutecs vu's with bezel? I found some at mouser, but with bigger and smaller sizes...

By the way... are the pots 320° or 310° ?

174 is little bit too much. Let say 6 of the bigger and 8 of the smaller ones. If money doesn't matter you could also order from UAudio, but 27 $ shipping costs.

Here you see the clipping of Piher pots. Nearly perfect.

Anyone have one spare "T" atenuator pot for 1176 or where to find!

I seem to remember someone saying that the Purple Audio people use these pots & may be able to supply them. I think they supply them as part of the kit they were selling.[/quote]

Hmm. Some friends and me ordered some parts (maybe 1500€) from andrew @ purple audio and we're waiting a half year now since the order was done. :!: (knobs and switches)

Has someone of you ordered there in the last time?

AB 600 Ohm T-pads often used in old HP tube test equippment.
From local surplus, I bought 6xHP200CD for $100....and had also
some parts (power supply trafos, paper 0.47x400v capacitors, tube
sockets &etc.)
Also, I've seen these t-pads in some other HP oscillators....

I linked from the Meta thread, but I wanted to update this topic with info found on another thread in this forum.

Hairball Audio has equivalent pushbutton switches, rotary knobs (in, out, attack, release) and PC boards for the ratio and meter switches.  They look pretty damn close to the original units, and are reasonably priced.
