I modded all of our G1176s by re-jigging the way that the o/p tx is connected up.
Download the spec sheet from Lundahl; it'll make this easier.
Connect pins 2 and 4 and use these as the i/p. Connect pins 5 and 1 to 3 and make sure these are grounded. On the secondary side, connect pins 6 and 9 then use pins 10 and 7 as + and - o/p.
This gives something like 35dB of gain or there abouts...
I was also getting a load of 100Hz hash on the audio gnd so I isolated the p/s gnd and Starred it at the chassis. This made it very quiet!
