Is there any signifigant advantage to upgrading the LF356H opamps in a urei 565T "little dipper"?
And if so, what would be good chips that would be drop-in compatible with the circuit?

Look in the Jung opamp book for audio circuits.

The 356 when overdriven has its own sound IMO.

There is a hint in the book

The first thing to do is compare the current draw of the originals with the ones you are thinking of using. Sometimes this can be a lot more & is often over looked by people.. In some cases it will be necessary to upgrade the PSU first.

If it's a product with a few op-amps then you're usually safe. A console, on the other hand....

I'm working on my Soundcraft 2400 and after upgrading one of the modules, I'll be upgrading the power supply and feed system before going any further. I have a second supply so I should be good to go when I get that far.
