Hello,
I'm trying to build a what compressor with weak joe schematic:

http://www.geocities.com/m_natsume/what_compressor.html

Is possible to add a V-Meter or a led-meter (up 6 leds)?

Do you have any schem to do it?
Thanks!

Valerio

What's a V-meter? If it's some kind of level indicator, you probably can do it...

Peace,
Al.

I think that in a compressor the V-meter or Led-meter indicate the gain reducion (db) and not simply the out level as in a preamplifier.

EDIT: Doh! I basically posted the same thing Michael did. Must read whole thread before posting...

Peace,
Al.

It's very easy to add a GR LED-meter in the Weak jo compressor :

Unfortunately, there is no Vactrol in my compressor but 3 Silonex NSL32SR3,
One for gain reduction, another for the bias, the last one (noted "1" in the schematic) drives a 6 LED meter with a gain potentiometer.
Some resistors need to be changed because the Silonex opto-resistors are not equivalent to the Vactrol; the modified schematic :
