I was at the flea market and found two NOS ampex record heads, and a daven pot. I have no idea what the Daven specs are. It's got a black casing with no label. The face is labeled "A 300", I think. Kinda smudged. Can someone help me figure this thing out? How can I test it?

Also the guy had shitloads of caps and resistors, as well as some oddball transistors. OH, he also has a box filled with NOS Simpson, Honeywell and API meters. What types can be used as VU? DC whooza amps? Make a list boys, I'll look for it.

are any of the meters he has real VU's? Ive been looking fror a real high quality pair to replace the meters on my 440 for a while now.

I haven't found any that are labeled VU. Lots of whacky shit in that box. Like meters labeled Nitrogen and stuff. But most are DC mA and such.
