Hi

A few pictures of recent projects, most of them still in progress:

DI-Box (see www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=20976): DI-Box.html
Transformerless mic preamp (see www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=23676): monte_generoso.html
Transformerbalanced, fully discrete mic preamp: sassariente.html
PSU for the preamps: standard_linear_psu.html
A few discrete opamps (see www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=10868): SGA-SOA-1.html

Awesome work Samuel.

How are you liking the Lundahl transformers?
What were your reasons behind the LL1527 on mic in and 1539 on line out?
I'm curious about the LL1576 myself as a mic in TX...sound good in your DI box?

They just need some sexy cases now!!

Do you have more info on the transformerbalanced discrete preamp?
What I have ready:
Schematic: sassariente_r1.pdf
Gain switch values (red column): sassariente_r1_gain_switch.pdf
PCB: sassariente_r1_PCB.pdf

How are you liking the Lundahl transformers?
I wasn't able to put these designs to work yet so I can't say much sound wise. But they appear to do what they claim...

What were your reasons behind the LL1527 on mic in and LL1539 on line out?
IIRC the LL1527 is the lowest noise (read DC resistance) part offered by Lundahl with a 1:2 ratio, and I had some LL1539 left.

Hi Samuel,

That's incredibly neat work - good job!

Excuse my noobishness, but can you please let me know what the green connector blocks that you've used for wiring to the boards are called? I've never seen those on any electronics websites or cartalogues.

Thanks

Rob

Everyone! Hide your DIY work immediately. It is not worthy.

Samuel, well done. Looks great. Maybe you should consider getting into business.

Yeah, what do you charge per hour?
I still have this summing mixer project I want to build but I keep pushing it ahead....

Hey Samuel,

great diy work !!!

Have you had the chance to put the sassariente against some serious preamp competition ?
I' d love to hear how it worked out,
if you still modded it or ...

Apologies for reviving such an old thread, I was searching for examples of the LL1527 put to use in a preamp.

I have a question about the sassariente preamp:

I was wondering about the choice of values for the resistors R106 and R107 (this would be a zobel network??? with the capacitor c101)
Can you explain why you chose those values or walk me through the math? The datasheet for the 1527 states that optimal loading would be 3-4K...

Do you now use this preamp??
