Hi guys,

I went on the McMaster-Carr website and found different types of wire mesh... My question is what material is the best for mic grills in terms of malleability, solderability/weldability, RFI/EMI shielding, etc...

They seem to have copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, steel (both regular and stainless), nickel chromium, and some other alloys... What do you guys use?

Peace,
Al.

PS: I love McMaster-Carr! I got some Garolite sheets to make turret boards that were wicked cheap compared to what pre-made turret board costs!

Hi Al,

I used brass. It was difficult to solder, but not impossible. I had to use liquid flux and a weller gun. It came out nice, though.
