I've just finished the power supply for my ssl9k preamps...
I have a problem with the -18V output

On the +18V everithing is allright... 17.9V
On the 48V output i get 44.7V (i want to put a trimmer for the LM317 adjustment)

But on the -18V i have -22.4V...

Anyone have any suggestion ?

-Load the output of the supply with a resistor?

If the regulator sees no load whatsoever, for some reason the 7918s are prone to letting too much through...

Try a 100Ω ½Watt and see if that brings it in line... as soon as you connect it to a mic pre, the need for the resistor should vanish, but if it's unloaded, some 7915s let too much through for some reason.

Hi Keith !
I've tryed the PS with 470ohm load.
It's works perfect !

Sorry for my stupid question.

I've also tryed to change the lm7918 from a ST to a Motorola, seems that the motorola works better witout load.

Just a last question, what's the max load for the ssl9k PS ?
Can i use one PS for 4 pre channels ?

Thanks a lot for your help !
