You need to sign up to download schematics. It's a very good forum, very little audiophoolery!

Enjoy!

Notice, that first r.a.p Google thread didn't start on page one..

I also have a very nice Erno Borbely dual regulator schematic I could scan if anyone is interested.. danish, but I'll translate it :green:

Also, I know there's probably a hundred pages to read but there is LOTs to learn. Vregs aren't discussed much in pro audio. That is a shame. A GML box would not sound very neat with a couple of 78XX/79XX and a walwart.. PSUs are very important. I've messed around with them for nearly 15 years. Even more so in pro audio, a large desk is wee bit more complicated than a stereo hifi amp.

I could dig up something for tube PSUs as well.

Well, the actual design/board layout is just as important. LM3X7s are good Vregs. I usually tag an emitter follower to it.

"I've toying with the idea of having a separate L&R psu in the Sontec though.. If you just have enuff capacitance after the reg (lotsa small caps and decoupling near IC's) and have stable DC, why couldn't a IC regulator be decent?"

Yes, that's the way to do it!

I like passive, LCR type, because it's neat, works, sounds good & simple. It's not good for somthing like DAC circuits were you need an exact 5V supply though.
