For 50 buckaroos it's a no brainer.  I find it excels at either short spaces or textured artificial long spaces. It's isn't great at being an invisible middle length reverb.  Wouldn't be without it though.

i love the nebula thing. being a diyer you can basically make plugins of any of our diy hardware.  shines on verb, consoles, tape, and eq.  not really there  yet on comps.  its an engineer plug though. a bit difficult to use and not intuitive.

OHM'S LAW. Not as an abstract thing: you should be able to glance at a small circuit and "instantly" know I and V, the way a soccer player glances at the ball and knows the angle and kick

I was just checking the new plug-ins from Sonnox the Fraunhofer Pro-Codec, looks like a nice tool in this "converting to crap" age...

I'll definitely try the demo ...

I will to.

I'm checking around to add a couple of plugs to my setup , not much because i don't like to have too many choices ITB, you always end up using a couple at the end anyway, well on my side.
And i've just tried the Flux Epure EQ, because i remember reading a review on a mag some time now and they seem to be good on paper, and i got to say that it does sound very good, both for individual tracks or Mastering, you should try it out....

stumbled across this today after just last night thinking why dont they make an emulation of just a plate. Seems like it sounds very good. Inexpensive too!

This upgrade ad's a whole new algorithm, a darker one, for emulating older reverb units...
It has become the only reverb pluggin I use...so much different sounds it does...and all so good.

I would keep the 3500 for the micro-pitchshift patch... Unless that has been covered in a native plugin already.

Cheers,

Have you tried the Tsar-1 reverb from Softube?
I bought the "studio collection" pack with the verb, and I'm really happy : I find it more "natural" than ValhallaRoom for a drum room (but the Valhalla is still usefull!).
I use mainly this pack (with FET, Dynamite and Focusing EQ), for dynamics, saturation and EQ.
Happy user here!
Alexandre.

I like ValhallaRoom, demoed Soundtoys which was really cool and thinking of getting the pack soon.

Reaper's ReaEQ, Stillwell comp and EQ's. Sknote plugins are affordable and just really good like StripBus (!!!), Roundtone, GTS-39 etc.

These I use the most if I need plugins.

A friend told me about the Fabfilter plugs today. http://www.fabfilter.com/products/
Has anybody got any experience with these? They look great, and if they sound the same...
No Ilok or external box..:-)

musicians vary +/-9dB depending on mood, drugs, and line-voltage. (PRR)

New tape sim from Toneboosters ...'modeled after legendary Japanese and Swiss reel-to-reel recorders':
http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-reelbus/

No affiliation, I just think it's really good after messing around with the demo a bit. Cheap too!

I was put off fabfilter for so long purely because i thought the name made it sound cheap (yeah thats right I'm a snob)
How wrong I was, "Timeless" is similar to ohmboys, but it sounds much better, you can add a real modern feel to things if you experiment with the delays.
"Pro-L" is now my go to limiter, I was a huge advocate of the brainworx BX Limiter which is great, but I'm finding the "Pro-L" gets fantastic results very quickly, and the preset release settings by genre actually do suit the specified music genre. Id say the only thing it lacks by comparison to the BX is the Crossover to make the low end mono, but its no the end of the world because the BX EQ does that anyway so I just insert that before the Fabfilter Pro-L when mastering.
