Help Connecting AKG C451b Phantom Power?

First of all seasons greetings to everyone.
Should an AKG C451b work o.k on 9 volts phantom power? If so, can you connect phantom power through a standard mono jack plug.
I have a Raven Labs preamp that delivers 9 volt phantom power and has a standard jack input. Which way around would you wire the lead?

9v is suspect.

vikki,i don`t think you can connect 48v trough a mono jack,but you`d better check at akg site.

451b can run just fine on 9v phantom power, but I would only recomment using standard XLR connectors on both sides. It sounds like the jack may be wored funky and you are sending power to pin 1 somehow.
