Hi all,

this week i finished my GSSL with supersidechain filter and hardbypass with relais.

here are pics:

on the inside pics, the unit was not totally finished, it's without the ssc-board.
the prints are home-etched, the frontpanel with laser engraved (was cheaper as drill-engraving)
for calibrating i used trims for unity gain, meter and ratio.

i measured the input vs. output working.
see here the tables with bypass, 2:1 , 4:1 and 10:1 ratio
the scales are in dB

i'm little confused about the working of threshold and ratio.
on ratio 10:1 and threshold at 0, its correct.
is this normal?

i forget to thanks the nice peoples who helped me in this projekt!
big thanks to frank, HPL, jakob, harpo and all the guys who i forgot.

Nice work ! :thumb:

The different colors on the vu meter reminds me something !

Did you engrave the front plate yourself ? How ?

yes - gave me some headache at the beginning, too.
the ratio switch changes also the thresold. this way the amount of gain reduction is the same when switching to another ratio, without the need to adjust the threshold.

nive work :thumb:

the frontpanel engraved with a laser in a local store in vienna. costs about 20€. With the meter lightning, so i had no place for a power indicator led or bypass led.
then i put this things in the meter lightning. when the unit is powered, the meter is lightning. when bypass its red colour, when working its green.

i was really confused about the working of ratio and threshold.
but i saw another compressors with mostly the same characteristics:

i made this diagramms with VEE, like LabVIEW.
with a laptop i control the programmable frequency generator and a programmable precision multimeter. sony and an HP unit.
so i increase the input level in 50mV steps to the maximum and measure the output. its very easy. the next time i will measure the frequency curve of them. the same way, only the frequency i will control on the input, and measure the output voltage.
