Hey all, I'm doing a little pet project for my masters comparing the filter response of various SSL plugins, and I figured it would be interesting to see how they stack up to a real 4000E channel - I hate to ask favors from strangers on the internet, but would anyone have a few seconds to run a pink noise sweep through an authentic channel for reference? Perhaps this is better asked in test/measurement, but I'll be sure to put the results there when I finalize my little experiment.

The settings are as follows, and the audio file is here (it's also attached, if that makes life easier):
  • LF: +6dB at 450Hz (Shelf Mode)
  • Low-Mid: -6dB at 1kHz, Q of 1.5
  • High-Mid: -3dB at 3kHz, Q of 1
  • HF: +6dB at 8kHz (Shelf Mode)
This isn't some super scientific experiment, and is really to satisfy my own curiosity (while teaching me MatLab along the way) - if you're able to help out thank you, and if not, thanks for at least reading my musings!

Ronan
