I have three THAT2181LA and 2 dbx2150a.

I just built my glssl, should I use the two dx2150a and one THAT2181LA or just all THAT2181LA?

I also plan to built the turbo mod and ssc (I may need one of those VCAs in the turbo pcb)

The 3 do not need to matched.  The one in the sidechain does not matter so much. The signal path pair will have to be matched however.
I'd put one 2181 in the sidechain and then try out swapping between both pairs in the signal path vcas. Maybe record a bit with both and then see which you prefer.

Let us know what you think.

I'M placing
that 2180BL08U on my gssl
cedos said me they are same as 2180la/lb
please someone know something about
what resistors must be leaved
and what must be replaced with correct value?
thanks

I just put those in my latest GSSL. They sounded a bit "crunchier" (slightly distorted) than my unit with 2180LB, although I havent compared datasheets. Think I'm gonna try 120K resistors heading to the sidechain before I start poking around with a scope.

please DUSTBRO (or any guy want to give an help)
what resistors have you bypassed/removed on the unit with that 2180BL08U?
here my pcb (sound come out very low and distorted and 5532 are a bit too much hot , shorts just checked)

Only the 3k9 and the two 47k resistors need to be removed, as well as pin 4 of the 2180LB(or BL) not being connected

HI
thanks for post !
i know
http://diy.fischerworks.com/gssl_vca.shtml

for 2180 vca - he say 47k -  ?  , 100k ratio vs 120k  - ?  ,
(120k ratio , confirmed if vca is 2181 but gyraf said 127K)
what value is this " unknow" : ?

in case of super sidechain 47k.........
cheers
ps
2180LB datasheet say :pIN 4 NC

ahh Im sorry, yes, the 47k's should still be in the circuit if not using the sidechain.  Leave them in if you arent doing the super sidechain.  As for the 100k/120k...I read somewhere that the correct value should be 127k for the 2180BL. I cant find the link, but I researched it a week ago and thats what I ordered from mouser. Oh, and "NC" means "not connected"

Hi,
Sorry to cut in, I purchased the THAT 2181BL08-U for this project with Super Sidechain, will I have to make similar adjustments?

  Thanks,
            Chip

For the 2180LB if you follow the instructions from that website you leave Pin 4 intact, correct? By doing the mods you are eliminating the trimming that is done by the GSSL and you are using the trimming provided by pin 4? Am I understanding this correctly? By that logic one could build the GSSL as planned and cutting pin 4 has an equal result by allowing the GSSL circuit to do the trimming?
