dump the magiq eye (or use it as a indicator) and use a tube to drive a small incandescent light bulb with a switchable LED option. i use 12B4As driving a 6:1 power transformer / light bulb. the poor hf freq response of the tx gives a real nice compression... :cool:

NORP12s are the best new LDRs i've found. i like to make discrete jobs instead of using vactrols. speed is not important to me

take a look at the EH white finger .. most fun comp i've ever bought

maybe ping TedF, he's got 'some' experience with LDRs i believe :wink:

or just leave it as it is. it sounds very smooth and creamy
