I was pretty concerned about this at first too but after changing the wiring on the TX... not only did it fix the Polarity & sound better... it sounds KILLER!

I can't say how close it sounds to an original but it's the MOST used pre in my studio & I love it just the way it is.

I finished this bad boy last weekend and must say it is the sweetest sounding preamp in my diy collection (a few api clones, g9, green pres). Thanks, thanks, thanks for everyone's help!!!!

The build threads proved to be invaluable to me. Every problem I encountered while building this was pretty much talked through in a previous thread. Great stuffs. I am tracking drums this weekend and can't wait to put the 1272 to work.

I'm glad you like the Hotrod. I have a pair and think they are fantastic Neve-ish preamps. I use mine all the time.
